My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD;

neither be weary of his correction:

For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth;

even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Proverbs 3:11-12

Because we are loved by God we can expect that love will transcend just stroking and spoiling us to also providing discipline for the purposes of correction. God, who created us did so with a distinct purpose and plan, and thus as our Creator-God seeks for us to become everything He intends for our lives. Just as a mother loves their child, loving them demands that they do their best to provide appropriate discipline so that their child would mature to their maximum potential. As an attribute of God, we too are Mothered by our Creator-God, with loving kindness He cares for us which also includes disciplining us so that we might grow up to our maximum potential, the very intent of God for our life and life more abundantly. Do not be frustrated or weary because of the discipline of God, it is out of His love He provides care and correction to bring out the best in you. Remember, inside of you is the essence of God, His Spirit, and it comes out as a result of the pressure placed on your flesh, the discipline required to bring out the best in you, your Most Favored Status.
