God, investigate my life; get all the facts firsthand.  I’m an open book to you; even from a distance, you know what I’m thinking.  You know when I leave and when I get back; I’m never out of your sight.  You know everything I’m going to say before I start the first sentence.  I look behind me and you’re there, then up ahead and you’re there, too—your reassuring presence, coming and going.  This is too much, too wonderful—I can’t take it all in!  Is there any place I can go to avoid your Spirit?  to be out of your sight?  If I climb to the sky, you’re there!  If I go underground, you’re there!  If I flew on morning’s wings to the far western horizon, You’d find me in a minute—you’re already there waiting!  Then I said to myself, “Oh, he even sees me in the dark!  At night I’m immersed in the light!” It’s a fact: darkness isn’t dark to you; night and day, darkness and light, they’re all the same to you.

Most people in the world want to live well and wish the same for the people, places, and things around them. However, life with its challenges does not always cooperate, creating a space in which we often find ourselves questioning everything.  Know that your inquisitiveness about the world and you are a good thing.  If we never question anything, there is no way to learn anything; never fear asking or seeking answers to what you know and do not know, the power is in the question, and seeking the answer is foundational to revelation.  The Psalmist pleas to God to investigate him, search and try him to see if what he is doing and how he is living leads to him living and his space informed, in the light of that what is intended for a well-lived life, is seen and available to him. It is The Good Shepherd, who does not just judge for consequences but provides truth in love and wise counsel so that we may walk, stand, and sit, Open Up The Way, to the abundance of God’s promises for our life and life more abundantly.  Allow The Good Shepherd to assist you in being honest with yourself, sensitive to God’s pathway for your life and life more abundantly, and be light, brightening your life and space so that you, as well as all, might live in the brightness of God’s abundance.
