And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid. And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.
Luke 23:55-56
These faithful women went to the tomb, looking for a lifeless body, not realizing they were Looking In All The Wrong Places for the Living Word. They came with devotion, but their expectations were rooted in death, not resurrection. How often do we come to situations, relationships, or even our own prayers expecting disappointment, when God has already moved in a way we didn’t anticipate? The Hidden Manna here is not in what they prepared, but in what they didn’t expect—that Jesus had already risen. Resting on the Sabbath, they honored God’s command, not knowing that obedience was preparing them for a greater revelation. Today, let us ask ourselves: where are we still looking for life among dead things? Sometimes, the greatest breakthrough is hidden in a quiet moment of obedience, waiting to be revealed when we stop Looking In All The Wrong Places.
