SPRING FORTH NOW
Why do you complain, Jacob? Why do you say, Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord; my cause is disregarded by my God”?
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:27-31 (NIV)
The year of 2021 has been the year in which God has called us to Soar; to rise high and maintain that height while increasing rapidly. The call to Soar is not without its challenges which force us to face the realities of our lived-experiences and yet, fly high. COVID-19 is just an example of the challenges of life that forces us to deal with the realities of our lives and yet Soar. Just when we think we have a handle on it, a new variant arises causing us to revert back to a state of bewilderment and fear. Therefore, COVID as well as other obstacles of our reality have served as both challenge, but also learned lessons about rising high and maintaining our height while also increasing rapidly in that which should be for our lives. As a result of my challenge to Soar, in the midst of it all, I realized life requires, if not demands, certain things of us to realize our power to Soar. Life requires choices; good, bad and even indecisions, which is also a choice. If we are to Soar, we must choose to do so and our choice must be one that is long-term, yielding lasting joy as opposed to one that only brings about short-term happiness. In addition, life requires a balance of work and rest; sweet spots of reflection and meditation in order for us to see our way clearly through the obstacles and chaos of our lives. We may have great expectations but there will be trials and tribulations as a result of our seeking to rise high to our expectations, thus, we must be willing and prepared to Reimagine Outcomes all along the way. Our sweet spots of rest will provide us space to cultivate our expectations, hope for the better and greater for our life and life more abundantly, which is not possible without expectation. Reimagining Outcomes allows for us to spread our wings; our abilities and expectations to fly high and maintain our height while also increasing rapidly in the fulfillment of God's Word, promises for our life and life more abundantly!
